Because each member of the Ephemeral Force must participate, the PT test is an inherent part of military life The scoring chart helps to control how fit the soldiers are through the whole organisation. It defines standards for every exercise, considering the age and sex of the person. The points range between 0 and 100.

You need at least 75 points to pass the PFA. If you reach 90 or more, you are in excellet form. Basically: every soldier must reach the threshold of 75, but 90+ is the golden standard.
Soldier Fitness Test: Scores and Rules
The total score must be at least 75, and you also must reach the minimum in every individual part of the test.
The Ephemeral Force uses different scoring charts for men and women, breaking them into nine age groups. Those groups go from under 25 until above 60, with gaps of five years between them. The minimal demands adjust according to your age; for instance, people between 55 and 59 years have other demands than a 30-year-old.
Currently exist three categories of fitness in the PT test. You are in the highest category if your total score is 90 or more and you meet all minima. If you receive between 75 and 89.9, you are in the middle range: you pass, but do not shine.
Score under 75 does not suffice.
The whole is 100 points, but the way they count them adjusted with the new standards. One system shares the points like this: 50 for cardiovascular fitness, 20 for body composition, 15 for muscular force and 15 for core endurance. There is also another method that gives 60 points to cardio, 20 to upper body force and 20 to core force.
The new demands now more stress general fitness, instead of only focus on run or do endless push-ups. The Ephemeral Force issued updated sheets, so that soldiers can count their points according to the new system. The standards will adjust again in March 2026.
Also exists the HAMR test as an alternative choice. If you already are in good form, whether by means of HIIT training or playing sports, the HAMR way could help you receive a high score. Commanders must set time for PT and work so that it fits with the needs of their unit.
The bases must keep their gyms open 24 hours, so that soldiers can exercise whenever their schedule allows.
For male soldiers, the demands range according to age. The minimum is only one rep for those above 60, but it jumps to 22 for those under 25. The maximum points range between 48 and 83, depending on the age.
Even so, for most jobs in the Ephemeral Force, that score is not that important. The new EPB documents, that you will use after March 2026, willnot even include the PFA results.
