📖 Digital SAT planning
Digital SAT score calculator
Estimate your Reading and Writing, Math, and total SAT score from module accuracy, pacing, and adaptive path strength.
This planner uses transparent weights for both sections so you can compare module accuracy, pacing, and target gaps without guessing the curve.

The SAT is a test for students that want to enter college. It helps to check whether students are ready for college level of study and solve tasks. It does not measure smarts.
Points on the SAT range of 400 until 1600. The lowest mark is 400 and the highest 1600. The total score is made of a Math section and a Reading-Writing section.
What the SAT Is and How Scores Work
Marks always are times of 10.
It existed since 1926 and during that time its name and system of scoring changed many times. Before it called Test of Learning Skill. Then it had two sections: Verbal and Mathematical, each with points of 200 until 800.
Now the scoring does not depend simply on number of correct answers. One mistake does not always cost the same of points. Basic points are figured out according to correct answers.
In the computer SAT you can’t see how many questions you messed up or which. The questions of the test are not released.
Percentiles well explain the results. They show how you stand compared to the other test takers. For instance, 76th percentile says that you did better than 76% from the students on the whole exam.
In the Reading-Writing section a mark of 590 or more puts you between the upper 25% of test takers. 690 or more are closely of the upper 10%, and 740 or more, around the upper 5%. If you aim for the upper part of the middle 50% (25th until 75th percentile), that strengthens your chances for help or a scholarship.
Above 75th percentile you consider a great mark.
In 2023 the average score for high school seniors were 1028 out of 1600. For the class of 2024 it was between 1020 and 1030. In 2024 the mean SAT score was 1024, with 519 in ERW and 505 in Math.
Students can log in to view points of SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, PSAT 8/9 and Subject Tests. Also it is possible to order report about one test date through account of College Board. Although schools as Yale advise to send points, others as Dartmouth and MIT now require them.
Students deserve to repeat the SAT or pick another test.
