The IELTS site says Reading is marked out of 40 and converted to whole or half bands. These anchors are the standard reference points used by the calculator.

The IELTS scores for reading depend on how many questions you answer correctly. In the reading section there are 40 questions and for every right answer you get one mark. Like this the highest raw scores are 40 and there are no marks taken off for wrong answers.
You use the raw score to find the band of IELTS. The reading test has three parts with texts that total have between 2,150 and 2,750 words. They become more and more hard during the test progress.
How IELTS Reading Is Scored
The scores for reading range of 0 until 9. They report in whole or half bands for instance 6,5 or 7,5. Band 9 is the best and 1 the lowest.
