Aside from that, what truly counts as a book, turns out more tricky than one could believe. There does not exist a universal standard; not legal, cultural or other, that would explain exactly the number of pages. Whether text with few pages deserves the name book, depends on the circumstances, on its form, on its purpose on the store and on existing rules in that case.

How Many Pages Make a Book?
It ends up being whatever it becomes.
Different Book Page counts can appear for the same content in various printings, which really seems odd when one thinks about that. The font seriously affects the look. Compact serif letters in 10 points take less space than bigger and loose variants.
The same story can seem entirely different based on the decision of teh publisher about the layout.
Lovers of fantasy commonly like thick volumes. Many wild novels have between 300 and 700 pages, where around 400 are very common. There also exist giants.
The book by Neal Stephenson, Quicksilver, has around 900 pages. Hyperion by Dan Simmons reaches almost 780. The Star of Pandora and Judas Unchained together form as if five books of reading.
And the jokes about The Lord of the Rings do not exaggerate, Tolkien indeed used three pages to describe trees. Here something to chew: the King James Bible has around 800,000 words. Typical pocket books store 250 to 300 words per page, so the Bible would extend to 2,666 to 3,200 pages based on the design.
For comparison, The Stand by Stephen King has at most 1,300 pages.
There truly does not exist a firm rule for Book Page count. What seriously matters is that the story is worth the time too read, with full attention.
On websites like LibraryThing the Book Page counts sometimes differ. Wide Sargasso Sea seems 224 pages under one code, but the real printing has only 156 pages plus 16 for the introduction. Like this Book Page counts relate to particular printings, so they range.
If the field for pages seems empty, look at the publishing details instead. Groups of librarians on those platforms help to correct wrong data.

Most commonly the publisher cares about the look after you deliver the manuscript. They involve themselves with typography, layout, charts and illustrations on their side.
