It’s not just page count that matters; a thin book might have dense material, while a thick one could feature lots of big pictures that slow your pace. So how do you calculate how long it’ll take to read a graphic novel? The calculator let you enter information about word count and number of panels to estimate a more realistic timeframe. Not all pages represents the same units of time. Some have lots of tiny panel and it’s work to follow the plot while big images can be digested in seconds. Reading is faster than visual processing. Dense text slows you down as do recaps or other elements that require extra attention to keep up. Adjust for this kind of thing & you’ll get your books done on schedule.
How to Plan Your Reading Time
While words per minute is what most people think about, with graphic novels it’s not just the words that need your visual attention. It’s also processing spatial relationships and images. That take extra time. Plus if you’re stopping to inspect things… Like looking for specific technique or studying art. Then that adds up across all those pages.
